Rainy Days...

Well, it's finally been raining in Little Rock (not a complaint from this household!!) It's finally cooled the air off and it is not miserable being outside anymore. Everyone is so glad the rain finally came (except maybe Pippi and Tyson. They don't so much like their feet to get wet in the wet grass!!) Anyway--since our dogs are our babies, we take lots of pictures when we start getting cabin fever...(hence, updating the blog page today!!). Here are the latest. Ty is getting SO big.

Tyson is a big time chewer...he goes through his chew bones like you wouldn't believe...I'm trying to get a one up on him and got him the "dinosaur bone." It's almost as big as Pippi...but he chewed on it for a good three hours the other night and didn't make a dent. Hmmm.

Tyson thinks he should be everywhere Pippi is. I'm not sure she agrees.

There is something about the men in my life feeling the need to pose their dogs (and probably children) with bottles of liquor. Tim decided Tyson needed to pose with a bottle of margarita mix. I'm pretty sure I have pictures somewhere of the pug dogs I grew up with posing with a bottle of Wild Turkey which would be my father's artistic abilities. Hmmm...There's NO similarities between Tim and my Daddy. Makes me wonder if Mike would've posed a dog with a bottle of liquor, too...maybe we should ask?

My sweet girl. I heart her.

Again, Tyson really does think he needs to be everywhere Pippi is. He hearts her, too.

One of Tyson's new fun games: Boxing Pippi in to small spaces with his paws and body. (gee, now I get the name "Boxer")

This was too cute not to share. Tyson quite often will sit at the end of the couch and give me sad puppy eyes when he's a) done something bad or b) doesn't want to "crate up."

They really do sleep together a lot...Pippi HATES the camera, that is what her expression is all about. Typical female, huh? LOL.

A Day at the Lake

Well--it's August. Summer is almost over and we just NOW got out on the lake for a day. Crazy huh? Tyson has put a damper on a lot of our regular summer activities--as we can't really leave him alone for longer than four hours a day. So...we have to hunt down friends that don't have plans and ask them to puppy-sit (let me tell you how much fun THAT is). Well, we finally got a day that we could go to the lake together and with a couple of our other friends. We had a great time. It was a well deserved relaxing day! Here are some pics:

Funny story...Tim had NASTY toenails and raisin feet from being in the water so long...he wanted to share his nasty feet with everyone! Jess didn't agree so much!

Our Sick Tyson Boy

Well, we had quite the adventure the first weekend in August! It was a gorgeous Friday, Tim had gone to Hot Springs to play golf with our friend, Taylor, and I had come home from work, welcoming the weekend. We were planning on going to dinner at Sarah and Taylor's house and having a relaxing evening. Well...Tyson decided differently! About 30 minutes after I got home from work Tyson became a very sick puppy!! (I'll spare you the details!) I called the emergency vet and described the situation and they told me to bring him in immediately. Well, it was just before 6 so the evening rush hour was just starting to thin off and I had to drive from West Little Rock, across the river to North Little Rock with a very sick puppy in the car. Let me tell you how much fun that was! Tim was on his way to Little Rock from Hot Springs and kept calling...which stressed me out more because I was trying to drive (ahhhh!!) I got to the ER vet and my mom (who was visiting that weekend by some Grace of God!) met me there. The vet explained the symptoms could be for a variety of problems and wanted to run various tests. Plus, we had to get the puppy rehydrated because he was now dehydrated. My heart was pounding in my chest and I was literally fighting back tears. I left him at the ER vet and could only pray that my puppy was ok. I got a phone call with good news about an hour after I left him--it was not any of the lethal puppy viruses that is every dog owner's worst nightmare...and they just wanted to keep him for observation for the rest of the night. Tim and I were relieved. We called and checked on him at about 11pm and he was up and moving about (another great sign!). By 4am he was keeping down water and wet dog food. We got to get him at 6:30 am Saturday morning. We were so happy to bring him home...(not so happy about the HUGE vet bill that came along with the ordeal!!). He came home and slept the entire day. The poor guy was tuckered out after his ordeal. But he's fine now. He had campylobacteria--which can be fatal in guys as young as him, but we caught it soon enough and got him on antibiotics and he's back to the perky little crazy puppy we have fallen so in love with (exhale--sigh of relief). Here's a picture of Tim (who by the way cancelled a golf game to stay home with Tyson that Saturday--if that tells you anything!!) and Tyson boy tuckered out after coming home from the doggie hospital.
