8 months have come and gone and little man is growing like a weed. He's 18 lbs., 8 oz. (39th percentile) and 28" long (68th percentile). He's army crawling like a champ, pulling up and doing the downward dog yoga position (meaning he's trying real hard to get in a standing position from a crawl position).
He loves his doggies...I don't think that will ever change. He loves his people...especially mommy, daddy and Ms. Cece. He loves his Jump and Go, his activity table and the coffee table (and anything that is on it...).
Eats like a champ. He's still getting the 9pm and 11pm bottle, but is sleeping through the night...in HIS OWN ROOM!!!
He had his first ear infection this past weekend. His fever spiked to 103 and OF COURSE Tim and I were in Austin, TX. I cried. But he's all better now, just as happy as can be (unless it's time to take his medicine).
J is SO MUCH FUN to be with. He is so happy and loving life. It is so much fun watching him grow and learn. I truly look forward to each and every day and the adventures J will bring. He's amazing and I love him more than anything...to the moon and back.
He's VERY curious.
He loves to play on the iPad...
And he ADORES Mickey Mouse's clubhouse. The first video is of him playing on the iPad...then Mickey starts...and it's all he cares about. The second video is of him dancing to The Hot Dog Song on Mickey.
And...this is how I spent my spring break. On the couch (or in bed) recovering from surgery I had on my hand. Good times (no). It's been very interesting taking care of a little one with one hand. Thank God Tim is a rock star and has been amazing. Thank God Moogie came in town to help. I wouldn't have made it through this without them!!

St. Patty's Eve
We were supposed to go to NOLA for our annual trip and Tim to march in the parade, but my wrist decided differently... I am having to have surgery on Monday, so we stayed in LR. Jack got to talk to Pawpaw and show off his Irish tux via Skype before we left for the parade. It wasn't what we're used to by any means, but we had fun. A good first St. Patty's for our little man! He's tuckered out now.

State Champs!!!
Our boys basketball team played in the state championship today and WON! What a great year for the NLR Wildcats! Jack, Will, one of us buddies and I went to watch them play. We had so much fun, though Jack got overwhelmed by the attention at times (it always seemed to be when I was trying to take a picture). Don't let the pictures fool you, little man was having a blast flirting and hamming it up with all the pretty girls. He also had lots of fun beating on his cousin. The only thing that really startled him was when the entire arena cheered for the multiple Allie-oops tha our boys served to Fayetteville High. Final score NLR 64-52, FHS.

7 months
Our little guy celebrated his 7 month day on Tuesday. I cannot believe how quickly time goes by. Literally, you blink and he's another month older. Before we know it we'll be celebrating his year birthday. Slow down time, slow down!!
Jack is such a blessing and so much fun to be around. He is all over the place now, still scooting, but I wonder if he will ever really officially crawl. He's starting to pull up on everything now, but he still needs assistance getting all the way up (though, I wonder if I wasn't around if he'd do it on his own...). He doesn't nap hardly at all during the day, but goes down for bed at 7 and is sleeping until about 5:30-6:30 in the morning. He's still in the office off our bedroom, but he's about to make the move to his own room. I just need to lower the crib. We're cluster feeding him at night (have been since 6 month appointment), so he's getting a bottle at 7, 9 and 11. It's helping him to sleep through the night. The only downfall is that I have to stay up til 11 to get that last bottle to him. We don't wake him up to feed him, just give him snuggles and a bottle and put him back in his bed.
I weighed him at home by weighing myself then holding him. He is apx. 17.5 pounds. He's starting to chunk up a little bit.
We've had to start baby proofing, he loves to open and close drawers and cabinets and has already gotten his little finger caught in a drawer. He was so sad. I think his feelings were hurt more than anything, he just couldn't understand why that drawer would want to hurt his finger!
He is so very independent. It kind of makes me sad sometimes. He wants to feed himself and explore by himself. He is interested in everything and can't sit still for a minute. He isn't interested in tv (which I am thankful for), he'd rather be playing with his toys. We read a book or two at night before bed, and he always seems to enjoy that (which I am thankful for!).
I pray every night for this little boy to stay healthy and safe and for him to continue to grow into the sweet, strong little man that he is. I want so greatly for him to be successful and confident, kind and compassionate. We are learning we have to let him fall (figuratively and literally, lol) so that he can learn from his mistakes (and that is one hard lesson for a mommy, as I am quickly learning). I look forward to waking up every morning to that big smile and picking him up in the afternoons to hear about his adventures. He knows what he wants and does not give up (which should make the toddler years very interesting). He's starting to hear the word "NO" quite a bit and get redirected to something he CAN do.
You don't raise heroes, you raise sons. And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes. ~Walter M. Schirra, Sr.
