vandalism is not our friend

This is the hood of my NEWLY PAID OFF car.

At apx. 2:45 AM Thursday morning, our doorbell rang. On the other side of the door was on of Little Rock's finest alerting me to the fact that some sweet little thing decided that my hood needed a new paint job.

I was told while the police officer was filling out my police report that 29 other cars joined mine in getting either vandalized and/or broken into. What sweet little angels.

I hope and pray that the police officers catch this thug. And I sure hope that they've had fun...because my damage alone is $650. My insurance company has already told me that they WILL sue for payment if someone is arrested. Multiply over $600 by 30...and you've got a hefty check to write little precious. And the LRPD want whoevever is doing this badly. They've upped their patrol cars to 5 units in the area.

And ha. Today, when I was dropping my car off at the collision center, our friend (who was picking up Tim so I could have his car) noticed that Tim's car got keyed, too. At least his car is white and it doesn't show up (and it was just a line down the side of the car, no profanity).

This has not been my favorite week at all. Hopefully this weekend will be better.

summer, summer, summertime...

Miss Lizzy Lou is modeling the Jamaican-Mon hat we brought back for John John. She totally pulls it off :)

I hosted Bunco for the month of June and got to use some of my new stuff. I love all my new stuff!

One of my besties from high school lives in Mexico now. She only comes home every two years--and 2010 was a visit home year. We went to grab lunch and catch up!

The fam...minus Tim...headed down to Ft. Lauderdale for LJ's big day!

I LOVE the beach!

I got to finally meet Riley and Zach! I'm holding Zach and talking to his mama here.

The happy couple at their rehearsal dinner!

LJ and her nephew Riley dancing the night away!

Relaxing seaside night before the wedding...

The big day! LJ wore her Mama's veil. For those of you that don't know, LJ's mama is our Mrs. JB, that we lost to breast cancer in 2006.

LJ getting her garter

That's my girl--representing her team (WVU Mountaineers)

I know this picture is fuzzy. It's really odd, because all my other pictures turned out fine. Except for the ones I took of these three. LJ, Bec and Mama

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. LJ :)

Annual Camping Trip (Tim and I did not camp, but visited for the day)

will it ever be the same?

Will it?

I remember asking that same question almost five years ago--and the answer is still unknown. Grant it, we have learned to adjust to what Katrina did to New Orleans, but it's not the same. The oil spill affects more than just Louisiana.

Hmpf.

eating, praying and loving.

During my morning blog reading, I stumbled across some FANTASTIC news (well, in my opinion, anyway). The book, "Eat, Pray, Love" has been made into a movie starring Julia Roberts. I am so excited (h/t a blonde and a brunette).

I was blown away by this book a couple of years ago--and noted some quotes that really grabbed me here. While the brunette didn't connect to the main character in the book, I most certainly did. I started this book and could not put it down. From the opening paragraph of the book I was captured and inspired, and have been ever since. There are very few times that a book moves me to want to change my life--but "Eat, Love, Pray" was one of those books for me.

And now. There's going to be a movie!! I can't wait.

Speaking of movies--hoping to go see Eclipse this weekend. (I know what you're thinking--you haven't seen it yet? Aren't you one of those crazies that braves opening night???)

Well, I used to be one of those crazies. Until I realized I can't handle a gaggle of screaming teeny bopper girls yelling over who's better: Edward or Jacob. Not when all I want to do is watch a movie.

Here's the trailer. Seriously, if you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it--or at least go catch the movie. The trailer looks as though the movie will follow the book pretty closely.

Happy day seester!!

Today is my baby seester, my very best friend's birthday--so just wanted to say happy day! I'm going to celebrate her day with her tomorrow, hopefully I can find a yummy chocolate cake for her on short notice. :)

the wall

Hey there blog land. Sorry for my absence. There have been several things I've wanted to write about--mainly to release frustration, but then, I want to keep this a political free land and so I keep my thoughts to myself. Well, ok, I don't keep my thoughts to myself, but I don't voice them here in Our Little World. :)

With that said, I got a package on Saturday--and I was SUPER thrilled!! It's my pictures I ordered from the wedding! I went with all action shots and got various sizes and prints. This is where they wound up (so...if you got a frame for us--or gave us a PB gift card--here is your gift in all its beautiful glory!):

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, I took this with my phone and had a boxer that was demanding attention (the fireworks from this past weekend REALLY freaked him out).

Well, I have to go back to study mode--which knowing me, means you'll see a lot more posts HERE, since what is better than procrastinating??? But the goal is to focus on the studying part.

So--til then my friends.

iPhone addiction :)

Still haven't uploaded pictures from my trip to FL last weekend--I've been too busy uploading pictures into Shutterfly so that I can get our Year 4 book completed...and choosing what prints I wanted from the wedding so I could still get the discount. Desicions, desicions. :)

Completely off topic--but for those of you with an iPhone--are you crazy addicited to all the games? I know I am. I am currently playing Words with Friends (similar to Scrabble), Qrank (a trivia game), Scramble (think Boggle) and now I was just introduced to Associate This (word association game).

How did I ever live without a smart phone?

Gearing up for the 4th of July weekend. Three days will be wonderful and much needed to help my poor ol' body rest.

Later!
