11 months

Last week, Jack celebrated his 11th month-day. ELEVEN MONTHS!! He's like a real person now! He  has a beaming personality and is interested in everything. He is SO MUCH FUN.

I have no idea how much he weighs. Probably between 21-22 lbs. if we follow the trend he's been on. He still eats like a rock star and is still not picky at all. He loves, loves, loves fruits (especially bananas and strawberries). He loves teddy grahams. He has gotten his hands on peanut butter crackers and has had no reaction, so it's looking like (thankfully) we don't have to worry about a peanut allergy. He has started eating pretty much exactly what mommy and daddy are eating. I just add food to my plate and we share dinner. He's a really good boy when we go out to eat, too, which is nice. I hope that stays...I don't want to have to not go out to eat because my child is a bad boy.

He is WALKING. He started walking at about 10.5 months. He can walk quite well by himself, but he'd rather hold mommy's hand (which means mommy has to walk around the house over and over and over and over....).

He is going through a mommy attachment stage. If mommy is in the room, he MUST be held by mommy (or holding her hand, walking her around the house over and over and over...). So, mommy is told A LOT these days to leave the room so other people can hang out with Jack. :(

He talks A LOT. It's mainly gibberish, but he's certainly entertained by what he's saying. Mommy and daddy quite often wonder just what is going through his head. His vocabulary hasn't expanded much since last month. He has added "outside" (well, something that sounds like it, and he's using it in the correct context, so we're guessing that's what he means). He says something that is resembling "Ty Ty" and says it around Tyson, so we're guessing that is what that word is. He has developed quite an attitude and will LET YOU KNOW when he is NOT PLEASED with something...

He has learned to use "no" in the correct context and to shake his head with his "no." Mommy gets it a lot!

He started giving sweet eyes (batting his eyelashes) last week when we were visiting the Rafferty family. He now does it whenever he tries to flirt. It's hilarious! He is also now trying to make himself cry. He scrunches up his face and squeezes his eyes, trying to force tears out. Of course, it makes mommy and daddy laugh rather than feel sorry for him, but he keeps trying. :)

He is still sleeping great, from about 8-6:30 (and 7 on mornings we're lucky!!). He is only taking one nap at Mrs. Cece's, but when he stays at home during the week with mommy, he's getting 2 naps. Mommy is keeping him home 2 days/week and sending him to Cece's 3 days/week so that he can stay on schedule and so that mommy can get home improvement projects done without tripping over the toddler.

He has a binky now. It's a Mickey Mouse doll and he snuggles with it when it is nap time. Mommy and daddy left it in LR when we all went to Dallas, so we had to send Grandlin and Aunt Cherie on a mission to find another one. They succeeded, so now we have a crib Mickey Mouse and a diaper bag Mickey Mouse. :)

He is getting two more top teeth and has been having a rough time with that. He's drooling like crazy, everything goes into his mouth (sigh), and has gotten a fever a couple of times with these teeth. He's also been getting pretty bad allergies lately, the poor bub. It seems that he is getting allergies like his mama. :(

We're having lots of fun....lots of laughter, hugs, kisses, snuggles! I love getting to spend more time with the little guy over my summer break. It'll be hard to go back to school!

He wasn't so excited about taking pictures and kept telling me no. Little stinker.

10 months

On Sunday, Jack celebrated his 10 month day. Two months away from ONE YEAR. Oh my goodness.

He's aproximately 20.5 lbs. He is still eating like a rock star and is not picky at all. The ONLY thing we've had any kind of inclination that he doesn't like is watermelon...and to be honest, I'm not too sure he dislikes it, I just think the texture throws him off. He is INSANE over strawberries. If he sees them he freaks and wants NOTHING else but his strawberries. So, at dinner time we have to hide the strawberries until he has eaten his meat and veggies. The boy loves BOTH meat and veggies. We usually have hot dogs, ham or chicken, but we have tried lamb, roast beef and turkey. His favorite veggies are broccoli, especially broccoli covered in cheese. He eats SO much!!

He's still a dancing machine. He will stop whatever he's doing if a song comes on that he likes and just rock out. It is so cute! He's standing on his own and can take about 3-4 steps on his own. He is not far from walking full on by himself. Lord, help us all when that happens! When he is not standing/walking, he is crawling. He crawls now, but will still go to the army crawl method if he wants to get somewhere FAST.

He is FEARLESS. He will dive into anything without worrying about the consequences, which results in lots of boo-boos and mommy freaked out ALL THE TIME. I sure hope he gains some cautiousness, otherwise I'll stroke out by the time he's 10!! He's a very active little boy, always wants to be on the go. He doesn't care for just sitting and relaxing. He wants to move and play!

His big phrase now is "uh oh." Everything is "uh oh." Or "buh-bye." He says "ma ma" and "da da" and "ba ba" (which is different from "buh-bye"), but he still doesn't say "ma ma" or "da da" much. He mainly just jabbers, and he LOVES to talk. (Gee, I wonder where he got THAT from???).

He is sleeping from 8pm to about 6am. We get up for the day between 6:15-6:30 and he is only taking one nap. He refuses to take an afternoon nap. He thinks he is a big boy and needs to be playing with the toddlers at Mrs. Cece's house.

He has one top tooth and two bottom teeth, with a second top tooth cutting right now (so that's fun...).

We're enjoying the summer evenings, going to the swimming pool or walking around the neighborhood. We have lots of fun and are looking forward to mommy getting out of school (one more week!!) so we can go on play dates and other fun things!

5.18.13

What a fun day!! I had to work this morning, so Daddy and little man came to visit (that's a shot of him with my headset on and him watching the show-he loves the lights and music!). When I got off, we went to the Greek Food Festival. Little man got to try a piece of lamb, helped us with our veggies and then had his first Popsicle (he shared with Daddy). When we got back home, we got out the kiddie pool and J splashed around while Daddy took some practice swings with the golf club and I watched my two favorite boys. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Now I'm sitting on my back deck listening to the sounds of summer coming in. Love it!
